• The Dutch civil-law notary will occupy this position for 2 years and is succeeding Richard Isham who has been president of TELFA for the last 6 years.
  • Karen Verkerk is the first female president of the network and has been serving as a board member of the association for the last 4 years.

TELFA member firms’ representatives, gathered in Brussels for the annual general meeting of the alliance, have elected Karen Verkerk as president of the board. The Dutch civil-law notary is since 1997 a partner at Dirkzwager legal & tax, the exclusive Dutch member firm of TELFA.

Karen Verkerk succeeds Richard Isham, a partner at Wedlake Bell - the UK member firm of TELFA - who has occupied this position for the last 6 years. Though it is the first time that members have elected a woman as chair of the board of their network, it is the second time that a Dutch president was chosen, as it was Frans Knüppe – now the Dean of the Dutch Bar Association - who occupied the position until 2014.

“Being a member of TELFA has always been a great asset for our firm in general, and for my practice in particular, as it allows us to offer our clients the guarantee that all their international interests will be handled with all the expertise and quality they would have “at home”. I have been pleased to serve on TELFA board for the last years and accepting the position of its president is both a great honor and also a great challenge. My goal is to connect as many lawyers within our network as possible and to share and extent our knowledge on behalf of our clients.”, declares the new TELFA president.

Aldona Leszczyńska-Mikulska (GWW, Poland), Tom Eivind Haug (Advokatfirmaet Sverdrup, Norway), Emmanuel Kaeppelin (DELSOL Avocats, France), Jasper Hagenberg (Buse Heberer Fromm, Germany) and Sébastien Popijn (CEW & Partners, Belgium) were reelected as TELFA board members for one year.
